About The Position

This Registered Nurse (RN) position is in the Behavioral Health Department at Texas Health Dallas. The department includes a busy outpatient clinic with Partial Hospital Programs and Intensive Out-Patient Program serving adults with co-occurring behavioral health and chemical dependency needs. Professional nurses collaborate with an inter-disciplinary team to ensure patient safety and treatment within the day hospital program. The role involves participating in treatment team meetings and teaching nursing groups three times a week for various patient groups.

Requirements

Associate degree Nursing required
1 Year of experience as a clinical nurse in an acute care setting required
RN - Registered Nurse upon hire required
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
ACLS – Advance Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of hire required
PALS – Pediatric Advances Life Support within 90 days required
CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 60 days of hire required
TNCC – Trauma Nursing Core Course within 6 months of hire required.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred
2 years of experience as a clinical nurse in an acute care setting preferred

Teach nursing groups three times a week for patients in women’s, co-ed, and chemical dependency groups.
