About The Position

ChristianaCare, a healthcare organization with 1100 beds between two Magnet® recognized hospitals (Christiana and Wilmington) and the only Level 1 Trauma service on the East Coast corridor between Philadelphia and Baltimore, is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Behavioral Health Nursing team at Union Hospital. This part-time position involves working 24 hours per week on the night shift during the week, with rotation to day shifts on weekends. The role requires adherence to department guidelines for weekends and holidays. The position is within the Crisis Unit and requires Behavioral Health (Psych) nursing experience in an Inpatient or Outpatient setting. Knowledge of the Crisis Area is strongly preferred. Candidates with strong Medical Surgical experience and a proven passion for behavioral health will also be considered.

Requirements

Current Maryland RN license or eligibility for Maryland RN license
BLS required
Two years of med/surg experience in an acute care setting

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred
Psychiatric Nursing experience is strongly preferred.
Knowledge in Crisis a plus.
Professional Certification in Psychiatric–Mental Health or Medical/Surgical preferred

Responsibilities

Provide nursing care within the Behavioral Health Crisis Unit.
Work 24 hours per week on the night shift during the week with rotation to day shifts on weekends.
Adhere to department guidelines for weekend and holiday coverage.
Utilize knowledge of Crisis Area principles in patient care.
