About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse Assistant Manager in the NICU specialty at the Women and Infant's Tower in Indianapolis, IN. The position is full-time. The Assistant Manager will assess daily patient access needs and ensure appropriate patient care is provided. They will provide oversight involving all aspects of nursing department operations, deliver quality patient care, and ensure the implementation of clinical objectives. The role involves delegating appropriate duties to clinical staff, collaborating with department leadership, participating in quality initiatives, and conducting hiring, training, directing, development, and evaluation of staff.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Cross Accepted.
  • Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Required professional licensure/certification AND 1 year of cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Previous NICU experience and Charge Nurse Experience is required

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross Accepted.
  • Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation preferred.
  • Leadership experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assess daily patient access needs and ensure that appropriate patient care is provided.
  • Provide oversight involving all aspects of nursing department operations.
  • Deliver quality patient care and ensure implementation of clinical objectives.
  • Delegate appropriate duties to clinical staff based on their assessed skills and abilities, maintaining proficiencies related to job functions and processes through ongoing monitoring of daily operations.
  • Collaborate with department leadership to ensure processes are up to date and followed.
  • Participate with ongoing quality initiatives, auditing projects and development of plans for improvement.
  • Conduct hiring, training, directing, development and evaluation of staff.
