About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse in the Ambulatory Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola. The position is full-time, day shift. The nurse will be responsible for following aseptic sterile technique, evaluating patient responses to treatments, managing patient pain, and anticipating case-specific needs based on procedure knowledge and pathophysiology.

Requirements

Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Florida. Credentialed from State Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Graduate of a Registered Nursing program required.
One year of experience as a Staff Registered Nurse is required.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a critical care or PACU setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

Follow aseptic sterile technique according to Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses / American Society of Peri Anesthesia Nurses (AORN/ASPAN) standards.
Evaluate patient's responses to treatments and interventions.
Manage patient's pain.
Anticipate case-specific needs based on knowledge of procedure(s) performed and pathophysiology.
