About The Position

UW Medical Center-Montlake's Ambulatory Float Pool is seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse. This role involves providing short-term and long-term staffing coverage for planned and unplanned absences across Montlake ambulatory clinics. The Registered Nurse will float to various ambulatory units for ad hoc and ongoing assignments, managing the continuum of patient care in diverse ambulatory settings. This position supports a wide variety of practices, including internal medicine, sports medicine, surgical services, and medical specialties. It offers a flexible schedule with work-life balance, ideal for RNs who enjoy triage, InBasket support, and back-office nursing responsibilities, providing varied daily experiences.

Requirements

  • 2 years of recent ambulatory or medical-surgical nursing experience
  • Familiarity with phone triage standards
  • Active BLS certification
  • Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State

Responsibilities

  • Provides patient care in a multitude of ambulatory settings
  • Performs phone triage
  • Answers patient MyChart messages
  • Provides independent patient assessments in specialty care settings
  • Administers medications and injections
  • Follows up on medical records and test results
  • Assists with patient admissions and record keeping
  • Coordinates medical and nursing care across the UW Medicine system
  • Documents patient care outcomes in our EHR system (Epic)
  • Assists with minimally invasive ambulatory procedures
