RN / Registered Nurse - Ambulatory Float Pool (Per Diem)
About The Position
UW Medical Center-Montlake - Ambulatory Float Pool has an outstanding opportunity for a Per Diem Registered Nurse. The Ambulatory Float Pool provides short-term and long-term staffing coverage for planned and unplanned absences throughout the Montlake ambulatory clinics. The Registered Nurse will float to ambulatory units for ad hoc and ongoing assignments and will be responsible for managing the continuum of patient care in various ambulatory settings. The Registered Nurse will support a wide variety of practices, including internal medicine, sports medicine, surgical services, and medical specialties. This position offers a flexible schedule with work-life balance and is a great opportunity for RNs who enjoy triage, InBasket support, and back-office nursing responsibilities. It supports a variety of patients in a role where no two days are alike.
Requirements
- 2 years of recent ambulatory or medical-surgical nursing experience
- Familiarity with phone triage standards
- Active BLS certification
- Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State
Responsibilities
- Provides patient care in a multitude of ambulatory settings
- Performs phone triage
- Answers patient MyChart messages
- Provides independent patient assessments in specialty care settings
- Administers medications and injections
- Follows up on medical records and test results
- Assists with patient admissions and record keeping
- Coordinates medical and nursing care across the UW Medicine system
- Documents patient care outcomes in our EHR system (Epic)
- Assists with minimally invasive ambulatory procedures
Benefits
- BSN (or higher) premium - $1.00/hour
- Certification premium - $1.25/hour
- Float premium - $5.00/hour
- Overtime pay
