Registered Nurse - Ambulatory Care
About The Position
The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care for outpatient patients of all ages. This role involves performing dressing changes, assisting with ambulation, and supporting activities of daily living. The nurse will administer prescribed medications and vaccines, perform respiratory treatments, and provide oxygen therapy. Additionally, the role includes fitting assistive devices such as splints or durable medical equipment, performing urinary catheter placements, collecting tissue and biological samples, and performing venipuncture for blood samples. The Registered Nurse will also assist in setting up minor procedures using aseptic techniques, initiate treatments, administer medications, and perform emergency and resuscitative measures. A key aspect of the role is consulting with primary care providers and other healthcare professionals to coordinate diagnostic and therapeutic regimens for patients.
Requirements
- Must have completed an accredited nursing program at the associate or bachelor's level.
- Must possess a current, valid, unrestricted nursing license in a state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States.
- Valid American Heart Association certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- A minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience.
