About The Position

This position performs a full range of laboratory tests, confirms the accuracy of test results, and reports laboratory findings to doctors, pathologists, and other physicians. The technologist may work in any major laboratory area, including Transfusion Service, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology/Immunology, Toxicology, Special Chemistry, and Fibrinolysis. The role operates and maintains a variety of laboratory instruments and uses the laboratory computer system to perform duties. It requires strict adherence to established policies and procedures. The position works independently under the supervision of a general supervisor; direct supervision is not required for specimen processing, test performance, or result reporting. The Medical Director also provides oversight. The position is based at Bethesda North Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, and is full-time, scheduled for 80 hours bi-weekly on day shift with weekend and holiday rotation.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Technology, Chemical Science, or Biological Science.
ASCP or AMT certification is required.
Clinical or Medical Laboratory Science or Technology, Chemical Science, or Biological Science is required.

Nice To Haves

1–2 years of clinical experience in a related field is preferred.
