About The Position

PCHC is seeking a detail-oriented, motivated Medical Laboratory Technologist to analyze, process, and manage laboratory specimens, enter data, and escalate critical results in support of high-quality patient care. The role involves accurate and timely specimen testing, appropriate specimen storage and labeling, laboratory computer entry, and quality-control activities. The technologist also maintains a clean and orderly workspace and collaborates with laboratory and practice teams to improve patient experience and laboratory processes. This is a full-time, Monday–Friday daytime position scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with no nights or major holidays. PCHC is a nationally recognized nonprofit organization and Federally Qualified Health Center offering integrated, patient-centered services.

Requirements

Associate degree or bachelor's degree in a related field.

Nice To Haves

ASCP certification.

Responsibilities

Provide helpful, proficient, accurate, and efficient processing of laboratory specimens.
Receive, analyze, and process specimens, ensuring testing is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
Obtain specimens using proper sterile technique and ensure proper labeling.
Store specimens appropriately and maintain proper refrigerator and freezer temperatures.
Enter patient results and data accurately into laboratory software.
Run appropriate quality-control materials and take appropriate action while maintaining compliance with quality-assurance standards.
Recognize critical values and promptly report results to physicians.
Maintain a neat and orderly laboratory and workspace, disinfecting surfaces according to protocol.
Collaborate with laboratory and practice teams to improve the patient experience and laboratory processes.
