About The Position

PCHC is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technologist to support patient care by accurately analyzing, processing, and managing laboratory specimens, entering data, and escalating critical results. The role calls for a motivated professional who values precision, quality control, and efficient work in a fast-paced environment. The schedule is full-time, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with no nights or major holidays. PCHC is a nationally recognized nonprofit and Federally Qualified Health Center offering integrated, patient-centered care and a collegial professional atmosphere.

Requirements

Associate degree or bachelor's degree in a related field.
Detail-oriented and motivated, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Values precision and quality control.

Nice To Haves

ASCP certification.

Responsibilities

Provide helpful, proficient, accurate, and efficient service in processing laboratory specimens.
Receive, analyze, and process specimens, ensuring testing is completed accurately and on time.
Obtain specimens using proper sterile technique and ensure proper labeling.
Store specimens appropriately and maintain proper refrigerator and freezer temperatures.
Enter patient results and data accurately into laboratory software.
Run appropriate quality-control materials and take appropriate action.
Maintain compliance with quality assurance standards.
Recognize critical values and promptly report them to physicians.
Keep the laboratory and workspace neat and orderly, and disinfect surfaces according to protocol.
Collaborate with laboratory and practice teams to improve the patient experience and laboratory processes.
Take responsibility for proper technical laboratory testing.
