About The Position

The Registered Echo Sonographer will deliver care to patients utilizing the Registered Echo Sonographer Process. This role will produce two-dimensional ultrasonic recordings and Doppler flow analyses of heart and related structures, using ultrasound equipment, for use by physicians in the diagnosis of heart disease and study of the heart. The sonographer will calibrate and maintain equipment, order supplies when needed, and calculate, measure, and document appropriate values on tests performed for review and interpretation by physicians. They will explain procedures to patients to obtain cooperation and reduce anxieties, and may perform therapeutic procedures. Patient information will be entered into a computer database to record information on video cassette and strip printout of tests. The sonographer will review test results with the interpreting physician and communicate with physicians, managers, and co-workers about changes in patient's clinical conditions while undergoing echocardiogram. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent (required)
RDCS – Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer through ARDMS Upon Hire (required) or RCS - Registered Cardiac Sonographer Upon Hire (required)
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support 90 Days Upon Hire (required)
Possess an excellent working knowledge of cardiac and pulmonary anatomy/pathology, the cardiac patient, and treatment of cardiac diseases
Excellent communication skills
Good computer skills
Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism

Nice To Haves

Associate Degree Related field (preferred)
Vascular experience (strongly preferred)
Obtain Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) Certification within 1 Year Upon Hire (strongly preferred) or Obtain Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) Certification within 1 Year Upon Hire (strongly preferred)

Responsibilities
