About The Position

Amae Health is a Series B, venture-backed Public Benefit Corporation that delivers specialty outpatient care for people living with severe mental illness, including schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar I disorder, and treatment-resistant depression. We design and operate high-acuity, in-person clinics across the United States. Our model integrates psychiatry, therapy, primary care, dietitians, and community health workers under one roof to deliver coordinated, longitudinal care for a population that has historically been fragmented across systems. Leading health systems collaborate with Amae to bring this model to their communities, including NewYork-Presbyterian, Cedars-Sinai, Mass General Brigham, Novant Health, and CommonSpirit Health.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience as a Registered Dietitian, working with complex patient populations, preferably in the mental health space
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in a relevant field such as Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related area from an ACEND-accredited program, along with current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Solid understanding of basic workplace technology, and an interest in utilizing technology to improve outcomes for patients

Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence-based nutrition counseling to patients with severe mental illness.
  • Conduct assessments to identify health and behavioral needs and create individualized coaching plans.
  • Implement behavior-change strategies, address barriers, and adjust plans based on patient progress.
  • Support dietary and nutrition-led interventions in partnership with dietitians/nutritionists.
  • Lead daily and weekly group activities that promote light movement, physical wellness, and healthy routines.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and care teams to share updates on patient goals, progress, and clinical considerations.
  • Participate in research initiatives by implementing therapeutic dietary protocols (e.g., ketogenic interventions) and collecting outcome data.
