Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) - Inpatient Acute Care
About The Position
Sodexo is hiring a Registered Dietitian for a full-time inpatient role at McLaren Bay Region, a 389-bed tertiary hospital and level III trauma center located in Bay City, Michigan. This position is open to new or experienced candidates and involves providing exceptional nutrition care to patients in the inpatient setting, including critical care units. The role requires knowledge of the Nutrition Focused Physical Exam, Malnutrition Identification, and the Nutrition Care Process. Responsibilities include organizing clinical nutrition and patient care responsibilities efficiently and effectively, and working rotating weekends and holidays to provide hospital-wide coverage.
Requirements
- Registered Dietitian credential
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills to interact with a wide variety of individuals and groups
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong time management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, nursing and ancillary staff
- Meets eligibility requirements for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and will become registered within 120 days of hire
- Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice
Nice To Haves
- Master's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
- Bachelor's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) (for those eligible for the registration exam prior to 1/1/24)
- In some states and/or facilities the RD/RDN credentials is required at the time of hire
- In some states and/or facilities state certification/licensure is required at the time of hire
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional nutrition care to patients in the inpatient setting, including critical care units
- Be well versed in the Nutrition Focused Physical Exam and Malnutrition Identification
- Work rotating weekends and holidays providing hospital-wide coverage
- Be knowledgeable of the Nutrition Care Process
- Efficiently and effectively organize clinical nutrition and patient care responsibilities
