The Registered Dietitian role is crucial in managing all nutrition-related aspects of care, working closely with families to restore a healthy relationship with food through a virtual, evidence-based, family-based treatment approach. The position requires licensure in Idaho and involves remote care delivery via a telehealth platform.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree or college and coursework accredited or approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).
  • Licensed RDN required.
  • Must have licensure in Idaho.
  • Manage a caseload of up to 80 patients, with each patient receiving care for up to 52 weeks.
  • Strong skills in communication and collaboration with diverse teams.
  • Experience working on interdisciplinary teams.
  • Organized and results-driven.
  • Ability to understand and balance business needs and clinical priorities.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment, subject to rapid change and innovation.
  • Ability to provide 29 hours a week of availability for direct patient care, including new patients and follow-up sessions.
  • Ability to commit to a minimum of 16 hours of direct patient care after 2 pm in your patient population's time zone throughout the week.
  • Ability to commit to working until 8pm two evenings per week.

Nice To Haves

  • Eating disorder experience preferred.
  • Some exposure/experience to family-based eating disorder treatment approaches preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients and families in transforming maladaptive eating patterns into a healthy relationship with food through ongoing support.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, including initial nutrition assessments, meal plan prescriptions, and target weight range assessments via telehealth.
  • Guide patients through the process of exposure to fear/challenge foods.
  • Clearly communicate patient meal plans and nutrition-related concerns to the treatment team, providing education to resolve these concerns.
  • Maintain a united front with the treatment team in interactions with families.
  • Assist with discharge planning.
  • Update treatment plans weekly with patient progress, treatment goals, and nutrition-related assignments or concerns.
  • Continuously reassess nutritional needs and communicate recommendations to the treatment team and families.
  • Deliver evidence-based nutrition education to challenge irrational thoughts and beliefs about food, nutrition, weight, and shape that contribute to eating disorder behaviors.
  • Establish therapeutic relationships with families, including rapport building, appropriate boundary setting, and a working alliance toward treatment goals.
  • Perform thorough documentation within Equip’s electronic medical record in accordance with company policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
