About The Position

This role is for a Registered Dietitian specializing in Bariatrics at the Saint Thomas Midtown facility in Nashville, TN. The position is full-time, with day shifts. The dietitian will play a crucial role in providing patient care, managing the care continuum, leading patient education, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Requirements

Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist credentialed from the Commission on Dietetic Registration obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required
Experience working with bariatric patients
Experience with patient education

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive pre- and post-operative nutritional assessments, monitor nutrition status and manage individualized care plans for long-term bariatric success.
Provide comprehensive pre- and post-operative nutritional counseling—focusing on diet progression, supplementation, and long-term habits—while continuously monitoring patient progress to adjust individualized care plans.
Empower individuals by facilitating bariatric education classes, hosting support groups, and teaching mindful eating and sustainable behavior modification.
Partner closely with surgeons and multidisciplinary care teams while ensuring accurate, compliant medical record (EMR) documentation and accreditation compliance.
