About The Position
A-Team Dental Staffing has partnered with an established private dental practice in San Clemente, California, to recruit a confident and clinically strong Registered Dental Hygienist for a direct-hire opportunity. The practice is seeking a hygienist with excellent periodontal charting and disease-management skills who can help strengthen its hygiene program. The ideal candidate is thorough, dependable, patient-focused, and comfortable working in a busy, outcome-oriented environment.
Requirements
- Active California Registered Dental Hygienist license
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Local anesthesia certification
- Strong periodontal charting and clinical assessment skills
- Experience providing SRP and periodontal maintenance
- Dentrix experience preferred
- Excellent communication and patient-education skills
- Comfortable working within an assisted-hygiene model
- Dependable, organized, detail-oriented, and team-focused
- Ability to maintain quality care in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities
- Perform adult and pediatric prophylaxis
- Provide periodontal maintenance and scaling and root planing
- Complete thorough and accurate periodontal charting
- Identify periodontal disease and clearly communicate clinical findings
- Educate patients about periodontal health and recommended treatment
- Perform two-quadrant SRP appointments within the practice’s established scheduling protocols
- Administer local anesthesia within the hygienist’s licensed scope
- Provide anesthesia for the doctor’s patients when needed
- Apply fluoride and dental sealants
- Place Arestin and perform irrigation as prescribed
- Take diagnostic-quality digital radiographs, including bitewings, panoramic images, and full-mouth series
- Establish appropriate three-, four-, or six-month recall intervals
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in Dentrix
- Collaborate with providers regarding patient treatment and periodontal needs
- Provide excellent chairside care and help patients feel comfortable
- Follow OSHA, HIPAA, sterilization, and infection-control standards
