About The Position

Alaska Advanced Dentistry is a privately owned, full-service dental practice in Anchorage that has been providing dental care for all of Alaska for over 30 years. We are dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care in a supportive, team-oriented environment. We're looking for a skilled and personable Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team four days a week. This is a full-time role in a well-equipped, privately owned practice where your work is valued and your schedule is respected.

Requirements

  • Active Alaska RDH license (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Strong clinical skills and a warm, patient-centered approach

Responsibilities

  • Perform preliminary oral charting, triage, and comprehensive dental hygiene assessments
  • Alongside the dentist, formulate patient-specific dental hygiene treatment plans
  • Remove calcareous deposits, accretions, and stains from exposed and subgingival tooth surfaces (comprehensive scaling and debridement)
  • Perform nonsurgical periodontal therapy (root planing) and administer localized periodontal therapeutic agents into gum pockets when appropriate
  • Removal of marginal overhangs on existing restorations
  • Administer local anesthetic agents safely and effectively (appropriate Alaska state certification required)
  • Take and review radiographs, including digital X-rays
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene and support long-term care planning
  • Document clinical findings accurately and collaborate with the doctor on patient care
  • Collaborate closely with the doctor and clinical team
  • Oversee patient recall duties, monitoring intervals to ensure patients return for timely routine care
  • Schedule future hygiene appointments and manage patient follow-ups before they leave the chair
