About The Position
The Dental Assistant provides documentation of dental services to the dentist or their designee. This includes maintaining dental charts, recording dental findings, and scheduling patient appointments to help dentists monitor services and provide patient care. The role also provides chair-side assistance during dental procedures, supports dental clinic operations, and maintains equipment, supplies, and a clean and sanitary environment.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or certification in Dental Technology from an accredited school.
- Experience in a private or public dental practice as a Dental Technician or Registered Dental Assistant.
- Demonstrate consistent sound judgment in dental decisions within a correctional healthcare environment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain CPR certification.
- Ability to attain and maintain all state-mandated certifications or trainings.
- Must reside in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Provide chair-side assistance during dental procedures.
- Sterilize instruments and mix restorative materials as needed.
- Perform intra-oral and extra-oral X-rays, and develop and mount X-ray films.
- Maintain X-ray equipment, processor, autoclave, and dental units according to specifications.
- Manage inventory of supplies and equipment, order supplies, and set up trays for patients.
- Complete daily instrument count sheets and perform dental screenings.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the dental clinic.
- Maintain dental charts, record dental findings, and schedule dental appointments.
