About The Position
The Registered Dental Assistant supports dental care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; and performing procedures in compliance with the Dental Practice Act. The role works with pediatric dentists, orthodontists, and anesthesiologists at CHOICE Healthcare Services, which provides pediatric dental care and aims to expand access to healthcare. The pay range is $20.00 to $27.00, based on experience.
Requirements
- Certification from a dental college, or at least 3 months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- California Registered Dental Assistant License.
- X-ray certification.
- Coronal polish certification.
- Current BLS certification.
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual in Spanish.
- Sealant certification.
Responsibilities
- Assist the doctor with procedures.
- Operate x-ray equipment and take x-rays.
- Perform teeth prophylaxis.
- Instruct patients on oral hygiene.
- Chart and develop treatment plans with the doctor.
- Sterilize instruments.
- Set up and prepare rooms for hygiene and treatment.
- Take intraoral images (IOs).
- Perform charting.
- Apply sealants, if applicable.
