About The Position
At Texas Dentistry is seeking an experienced Registered Dental Assistant who is comfortable treating children. The Dental Assistant performs a variety of assisting duties while promoting quality dental care and maintaining a safe, low-stress environment. The role assists the doctor, teaches patients how to care for their teeth, communicates effectively with patients and parents of child patients, and follows universal precautions and OSHA requirements. Working Saturdays is required, and the position requires willingness to travel to Terrell.
Requirements
- At least one year of dental assisting experience.
- Texas State Board Dental Assistant License.
- CPR certification.
- Comfort treating children.
- Willingness to travel to Terrell.
- Availability to work Saturdays.
Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms by stocking, cleaning, and setting them up; seat patients and provide care according to patient setup protocols.
- Document patient notes accurately and initial the correct forms; ensure consents, medical clearances, and prescriptions are completed.
- Assist the doctor chairside with procedures.
- Confirm patient medical records have been received and release records to providers or patients who request copies.
- Assist the doctor by using appropriate materials and instruments during treatment.
- Follow OSHA requirements and practice safety precautions.
- Take radiographs accurately to reduce retakes and radiation exposure.
- Ensure treatment plan charges and patient discounts are correct.
- Teach patients how to care for their teeth and communicate effectively with patients and, when applicable, their parents.
