About The Position

The Staff Pad has partnered with a leading non-profit healthcare organization in Southern California to hire dependable Registered Dental Assistants (RDAs) to support exceptional patient care across multiple Company sites by assisting dentists and addressing patient needs and concerns. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing patients for treatment, assisting with restorative dentistry and oral surgery procedures, preparing materials and equipment, taking X-rays, assisting with laboratory work, and providing administrative, operational, and clinical support (scheduling appointments, answering phones, ordering supplies, and processing dental billing) as needed.

Requirements

  • Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license
  • One year of Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) experience
  • Current CPR certification
  • Knowledge of medical technology
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (reading, writing, and speaking)
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel as needed
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends for community events
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to maintain visual acuity and focus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet applications
  • EHR experience preferred
  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adapt to office procedures and policies

Responsibilities

  • Deliver an exceptional patient experience & address patient concerns
  • Pass instruments & materials to the dentist during procedures and maintain a clear treatment field using suction & other devices
  • Maintain a clean, sterile treatment environment & disinfect operatories per ADA guidelines
  • Obtain, review & update patient dental & health histories including care slips
  • Escort patients throughout the visit & maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Prepare procedure trays, maintain operatory supplies, sterilize & disinfect instruments and equipment
  • Take adult and pediatric X-rays & prepare impression and restoration materials
  • Educate patients on postoperative care and demonstrate oral hygiene techniques
  • Complete required dental equipment logs in compliance with audit requirements
  • Perform monthly checks of the emergency medical kit and adult and pediatric oxygen equipment
  • Maintain inventory and order dental supplies
  • Perform pediatric prophylaxis and apply fluoride treatments
  • Document patient charts & doctor notes and ensure treatment records, consents, health histories are completed and signed by the doctor
  • Ensure compliance with State Dental Auxiliary regulations, all applicable regulatory and Company policies
  • Enter prescriptions and patient information into the EHR
  • Attend required meetings, trainings, and work-related events
  • Perform other duties as assigned
