About The Position

Directs/performs diagnostic cardiovascular procedures per physician request and in compliance with established policy and procedures. Performs diagnostic testing and forwards reports for interpretation by reading physician. Notifies reader as to abnormal. Communicates with nursing units and other ancillary department. Performs diagnostic testing in compliance with hospital and departmental policy and procedures. Demonstrates knowledge of and implements policies and procedures of the hospital and nursing departments. Assists physicians with patient procedures. Participates in the orientation of new staff and in the clinical experience of students.

Requirements

• Graduate of an AMA approved Cardiovascular Technologist Program, or the equivalent.
• Certified, or registered by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
• Proficient in the use of physiologic analytical equipment during diagnostic procedures, such as Echocardiography machine to perform 2Decho and Transesophageal echo's.
• Willingness to work with the realization that errors and incompetence may have serious consequences for the patient.
• Current BLS certification.

Nice To Haves

• One years’ experience as a Cardiopulmonary Technologist desirable.
• Good communication skills due to frequent contacts with nursing personnel, physicians, patients, and ancillary department personnel.
