About The Position

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist. The Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist is a highly trained and specialized healthcare professional who plays a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular conditions. Working at a professional level, this role is central to the functioning of cardiac catheterization laboratories and other invasive cardiovascular environments. The Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist assists physicians in performing diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures and operates within a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes and procedural efficiency. The Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist administers medication under the direction of a qualified physician; ensures compliance with all hospital policies, HIPAA regulations, and accreditation standards; participates in on-call rotation and responds rapidly to emergency cases, including STEMI activations; and contributes to ongoing quality assurance and process improvement initiatives in the cath lab.

Requirements

  • High School Grad or Equivalent (required)
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
  • BLS (Required within 90 days)
  • ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire
  • Related experience such as working as a Cardiovascular Invasive Tech or working in an invasive cardiac environment (1 year minimum required)

Responsibilities

  • Ensures compliance with all hospital policies, HIPAA regulations, and accreditation standards.

  • Contributes to ongoing quality assurance and process improvement initiatives in the cath lab.
