About The Position

Family of Kidz is seeking a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to work in a school-based setting in Westchester County, NY. This is a part-time position following the school district calendar, offering daytime hours between 25-32 hours per week. The role involves supporting children with special needs, implementing behavior support plans, and collaborating with school personnel to foster student success. Family of Kidz has been dedicated since 1998 to helping children with special needs develop skills for greater independence and an enhanced quality of life.

Requirements

  • RBT Credential mandatory
  • Minimum of 6 months working with children or adolescents with special needs in a supervised setting
  • Minimum of High School Diploma required
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Successful completion of or current enrollment in an undergraduate program in psychology, healthcare, human services, education or related field preferred
  • Experience with students with autism and/or maladaptive behaviors preferred
  • Critical thinker with a problem-solving mind
  • Bilingual is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Respond to the goals, needs and requests of students and supervisors, on an individualized basis, and in a professional manner.
  • Work closely with school personnel (e.g. classroom/ special teachers, TAs, school psychologist, social worker, behavior consultant, related service provider) to ensure the student’s success in the classroom.
  • Work collaboratively with a behavior consultant and/or clinical supervisor to provide academic, behavioral, and social/emotional support to student with special needs
  • Assist with classroom assignments under the direction of the classroom teacher.
  • Implementation of behavior support plans/ BIP's or skill acquisition programs (data collection, progress reporting, CPI training and implementation)
  • Help with daily living tasks, such as mobility, hygiene, and transitions.
  • Assist the student with moving between classrooms and other school locations, including the cafeteria, bathroom, and therapy sessions
  • Maintain the confidentiality of information regarding students in accordance with State and Federal regulations
