About The Position

The Regional Supervisor position will oversee a portfolio that consists of San Diego County in addition to other potential counties. In this role, you will guide daily operations across several affordable housing communities. You will support property teams and ensure each site runs smoothly and meets goals. You will also help maintain compliance with housing programs and standards. Your work will support both residents and team members while improving overall property results. This role requires strong organization and clear communication.

Requirements

  • At least 3 – 5 years of experience in property management in a manager capacity, including regional oversight of affordable housing
  • Strong knowledge of HUD, LIHTC, and Section 8 compliance requirements
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to guide and develop property teams
  • Ability to manage time well and handle multiple properties and projects at once
  • Experience in understanding budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Ability to communicate clearly and build trust with residents, teams, and partners
  • Familiarity with property management systems and Microsoft Office tools
  • Ability to travel within the region and adjust schedule when needed
  • Ability to complete tasks requiring overhead work
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to property management software systems
  • Ability to lift, push, pull up to 15 lbs
  • Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 15 lbs
  • Ability to push, pull, bend and reach constantly
  • Ability to walk, stand constantly
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs safely frequently
  • Ability to communicate in English clearly in order to be understood by co-workers, residents, vendors and other local agencies
  • Possess reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and state-required automobile insurance coverage

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of multiple Section 8 and LIHTC communities and ensure full compliance with HUD rules
  • Manage property budgets, monitor expenses, and support financial goals across all assigned sites
  • Lead and support property managers and on-site teams through coaching and regular guidance
  • Conduct inspections and audits to ensure properties meet legal and program requirements
  • Act as a key contact between residents, staff, and public agencies
  • Review reports, including recertifications and rent updates, and ensure accurate submission
  • Work with vendors and contractors to complete maintenance and improvement projects
  • Monitor occupancy levels and support leasing efforts to meet program guidelines
  • Review performance data and take action to improve results when needed
  • Respond to concerns from residents and staff in a timely and clear way
  • Develop standardized operating procedures across all properties to ensure consistency and efficiency in daily operations
  • Review and approve hiring decisions for on-site staff, ensuring each property is staffed with qualified and aligned team members
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations for property managers and provide structured development plans to support growth
  • Oversee risk management practices, including safety protocols, incident reporting, and insurance compliance across all communities
  • Lead regional meetings with property teams to review performance, share updates, and align on company goals
  • Ensure timely preparation and review of all regulatory reports related to HUD, LIHTC, and Project-Based Section 8 programs
  • Stay updated on changes in affordable housing laws and guide teams in adapting to new requirements
  • Coordinate third-party audits and respond to findings with clear corrective action plans
  • Maintain accurate documentation for all properties to support inspections and compliance reviews
  • Analyze monthly financial statements and identify trends that impact property performance
  • Approve major expenses and capital projects in line with budget goals and long-term plans
  • Support rent-setting strategies within program limits to balance affordability and revenue goals
  • Partner with leadership to develop long-term strategies for portfolio growth and property improvement
  • Oversee resident engagement initiatives that improve satisfaction and community stability
  • Support resolution of escalated resident concerns with a fair and professional approach
  • Ensure properties maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all residents
  • Promote a culture of respect, inclusion, and service across all communities
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors and service providers to ensure quality service and cost control
  • Monitor vendor performance and address service issues when needed
  • Oversee preventive maintenance programs to protect property value and reduce future costs
