About The Position

The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is responsible for achieving or exceeding annual sales targets by developing and managing distributor partnerships. This role involves identifying and implementing channel expansion strategies, conducting joint sales calls, and managing project-based sales activities. The RSM will also lead penetration strategies for key accounts, collaborate with internal teams on pricing and proposals, and provide sales forecasts. Additionally, the position supports new product launches, delivers training to distributors, manages distributor-related issues, and gathers market intelligence. The role requires participation in cross-functional teams and monitoring distributor capabilities. The RSM will also support the implementation of e-business tools and participate in periodic factory training, collecting data to support business decisions across departments. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Proven sales or sales negotiation experience.
  • Experience in distribution or channel management.
  • Strong formal presentation skills; comfortable selling in one-on-one and group settings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Must be able to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and handle multiple abstract and concrete variables.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or Industrial Technology
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical sales and/or channel sales
  • Experience in fluid handling and/or process engineering

Responsibilities

  • Achieve or exceed annual sales targets as defined in collaboration with the VP of Sales.
  • Develop and manage distributor partnerships, including setting annual goals, conducting quarterly business reviews, and driving accountability.
  • Record and track new business opportunities in the CRM, detailing market differentiation and share-take initiatives.
  • Identify and implement channel expansion strategies aligned with critical regional market opportunities.
  • Conduct joint sales calls with distributor personnel and build strong relationships with key end customers.
  • Ensure distributors allocate sufficient time and resources to Roper Pump products by establishing clear positioning, sales goals, and support expectations.
  • Manage project-based sales activities, including pricing, quoting, and strategy development, in line with company policies.
  • Lead penetration strategies for strategic accounts, OEMs, system builders, and contractors in coordination with internal teams.
  • Identify and pursue competitive displacement opportunities at key accounts; document in CRM.
  • Collaborate with engineering and finance teams to coordinate price proposals and provide regional pricing feedback.
  • Provide monthly and annual sales forecasts for each distributor.
  • Work with channel partners to manage inventory levels and stock requirements.
  • Support new product launches through the regional distribution network.
  • Deliver product, application, and sales training to distributor personnel.
  • Manage distributor-related issues, such as territory disputes and commission splits, within agreement guidelines.
  • Gather and report market intelligence, product/service ideas, and strategic sales input.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams, including new product development, marketing, and sales projects.
  • Monitor distributor capabilities and events that may impact performance or service levels.
  • Support implementation of e-business tools and systems with assigned partners.
  • Participate in periodic factory training.
  • Collect data to support metrics and business decisions across departments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
