About The Position

United Automobile Insurance Company (UAIC), a family-owned, privately held property and casualty insurance company founded in 1989, is seeking Territory Sales Representatives. UAIC is committed to providing quality service to its agents and customers through disciplined underwriting and strategic claims handling. The company invests in personnel and technology to ensure efficiency and specialized operations, leading to market leadership in every state where it operates. The preferred candidate must be located in the Indianapolis area.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in business, Communications, Marketing, a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
  • 3 years of proven experience in field sales or a related role with a successful track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and sales-related technologies.
  • Self-motivated, driven, and goal-oriented individual with a passion for sales.
  • Willingness to travel 50% of the time within the assigned territory.

Nice To Haves

  • 220 license preferred but not required.
  • Bilingual fluency preferred but not required: English and Spanish.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships.
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Generate revenue and meet sales targets by establishing and maintaining relationships with existing agencies.
  • Seek out and acquire new business opportunities.
  • Offer independent agencies tailored solutions that meet their unique needs.
  • Initiate contact with independent agencies within the designated territory.
  • Identify decision makers and key contacts within agencies.
  • Ensure agencies are aware of UAIC's contact information and responsible departments.
  • Familiarize yourself with agency history and operations.
  • Assess opportunities for growth and profitability within agencies.
  • Analyze agency size, business volume, target customer base, and lead generation methods.
  • Understand barriers and challenges to adopting UAIC products/services.
  • Position UAIC products and services effectively based on gathered insights.
  • Highlight features and benefits that align with agency needs and goals.
  • Establish clear, mutually agreed-upon commitments with agencies.
  • Define specific timelines and measurable outcomes for commitments.
  • Ensure results are trackable and measurable.
  • Conduct 16-20 unique in-person sales calls per week.
  • Manage schedule for efficient travel between appointments and administrative tasks.
  • Maintain a shared calendar with the team for transparency and to avoid duplicating efforts.
  • Document all visits with detailed notes in the corresponding calendar event within 24 hours.
