About The Position

As a Regional Sales Manager, you will lead a team of talented origination professionals who are responsible for earning the right to do business with producer customers. These long-term relationships help secure supply chains critical to feeding the world’s growing population, improving diets, and decarbonizing the environment through regenerative ag practices. You will have responsibility for a large origination territory in the Central IN Region, directly overseeing the origination activities for ADM’s grain locations, wheat milling, and oilseed crush businesses. We are looking for highly passionate candidates who have the desire to make a meaningful impact in the ag industry. Your attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple priorities will be crucial for success in an environment where ambiguity and change happen often.

Requirements

  • 5+ years sales management experience
  • Demonstrate capacity to evaluate and manage risk, along with an understanding of how to lead and conduct professional sales calls with customers and prospects
  • Dedication to be a positive & professional team leader
  • Ability to function as a leader to coach, mentor, and develop origination staff with strong collaboration across other job functions
  • Strong analytical abilities, initiative, and problem-solving skills necessary to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
  • Effective oral and written communication skills as well as ability to interface with various levels within ADM
  • An ability to collaborate effectively with commercial counterparts to create opportunity for ADM and the producer customer
  • A strong understanding of grain markets, grain contracting methods, related ag markets and offerings, production agriculture and the application of those to the producer
  • An understanding of contract alternatives and their impact on regional P&L
  • Understanding margin structure and it’s effect on regional P&L
  • Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office suite including Outlook and Teams
  • Proficient in the use and application of mobile technology
  • Dedication to utilize technology applications that are critical to sales activities
  • Commitment to own the use of Salesforce to track customer interactions and capture critical business information
  • Commitment to territory planning, development, and efficient execution
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
  • Early adopter of new technology and ability to lead and influence other target users
  • Bachelor’s Degree required

Responsibilities

  • Create and lead farm direct grain origination, strategy, and growth with a team of 10-15 originators while staying in lock step with commercial business partners including regenerative ag.
  • Become a trusted advisor by establishing positive relationships based on your ability to uncover customer needs and dedication to delivering value
  • Learn and develop the region's unique origination footprint, strategic goals, technological plans, and ever-evolving competitive landscape.
  • Implement consistent prospecting and pipeline development plans of each team member tailored to their individual territories
  • Evaluate and manage the strengths and weaknesses of your team through uplifting coaching, mentoring, and strategic staffing
  • Provide education of grain contract alternatives, and margin structure to originators.
  • Work with commercial team members and other ADM stakeholders to ensure efficient, profitable execution for the customer and ADM
  • Be a leader within the region while collaborating with commercial partners on asset specific goals and ensure alignment
