About The Position

As a Regional Sales Manager at Zekelman Industries within the Wheatland Tube Pipe Division, you will play a key role in driving profitable growth across the western region by leading a high-performing commercial sales team. This position requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and deep industry expertise, and offers the opportunity to directly impact revenue performance, customer retention, and market expansion—particularly within energy tubular products including API 5L Line Pipe and API 5CT Casing, as well as standard and sprinkler pipe. Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, this role collaborates closely with internal departments and external customers to ensure market strategies are executed effectively and growth goals are achieved. This is a full-time, remote role supporting a western regional territory with frequent travel. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced commercial environment, enjoys building customer relationships, and knows how to lead teams to deliver results.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of sales leadership experience, preferably within the steel pipe industry
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • Strong knowledge of the PVF, fire protection, and API line pipe markets
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, mentor, and motivate a multi-discipline commercial team
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence all levels of an organization
  • Highly motivated, goal-oriented, and organized with an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Strong analytical, negotiating, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical, financial, and legal documents
  • Ability to travel weekly throughout the assigned region

Responsibilities

  • Implements product, pricing, and market strategies to exceed forecasted revenue and volume goals.
  • Develops, executes, and manages regional sales budgets to support growth objectives.
  • Establishes performance standards, goals, and objectives for direct reports while providing mentorship and ongoing feedback.
  • Builds and strengthens customer relationships with key decision makers across the assigned region.
  • Identifies and develops new strategic account targets aligned with the company’s value proposition.
  • Monitors competitive activity and consolidates market intelligence across the region to support strategic planning.
  • Negotiates supply agreements with customers to ensure profitable returns on company resources.
  • Promotes adoption of the company’s e-commerce offerings across the sales team and customer base.
  • Represents the organization through active involvement in industry associations, events, and trade shows.
  • Supports new product development efforts by identifying opportunities to maintain a leadership position in the market.
  • Motivates the sales team and reinforces a strong organizational culture.
  • Coordinates and communicates regularly with sales leadership and cross-functional internal departments.
  • Manages regional expenses and submits required reporting in a timely manner.
  • Leads and promotes safe work practices in accordance with regulatory agencies and company policy.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
