About The Position

McWane Plant and Industrial (MPI) has a newly created division that combines all Plant and Industrial Products into a single customer-focused package. MPI offers comprehensive solutions through an experienced team of professionals specifically focused on these two special markets. Our Mission is to be the Plant and Industrial supplier who is “easiest to do business with”. We will make it easier to engineer, specify, and order components for plants. We will provide greater support for smoother delivery, cost-effective installation, and start-up. Most importantly, we will build strong relationships with design engineers, contractors, plant operations teams and project owners to assure we are their first-choice supplier for both new construction and future upgrades. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of successful sales experience in industrial, mechanical, waterworks, or related infrastructure markets.
  • Proven ability to grow a territory through new customer acquisition, channel development, project influence, and market share expansion.
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing strategic territory plans, managing complex sales opportunities, and consistently achieving growth objectives.
  • Strong business acumen, problem-solving skills, and the ability to effectively influence customers, channel partners, and cross-functional teams.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a high level of accountability, initiative, and adaptability in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
  • Experience utilizing CRM systems, opportunity management, forecasting, and pipeline development tools.
  • Ability to travel up to 60%.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of sales experience in the mechanical, industrial, waterworks, or related infrastructure markets.
  • Experience working with and influencing manufacturer representatives, distributors, contractors, engineers, municipalities, utilities, industrial facilities, or other key stakeholders throughout the Western U.S.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or construction-related discipline, such as Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience building a territory, launching new products, entering new markets, or contributing to the growth and development of a new business, division, or product line.
  • Proficiency in CRM management, forecasting, pipeline development, annual sales planning, channel partner management, and project-based selling processes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute territory growth strategies for California, Hawaii, Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico to achieve sales, market share, and profitability objectives.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with distributors, manufacturers' representatives, contractors, engineers, municipalities, utilities, and end users to drive specification influence, project opportunities, and revenue growth.
  • Lead, develop, and hold accountable assigned manufacturer representatives and distribution partners through business planning, performance reviews, joint sales calls, training, and market development initiatives.
  • Establish, maintain, and prioritize a robust project and distributor conversion pipeline, utilizing disciplined CRM, forecasting, and opportunity management practices to achieve growth objectives.
  • Identify new market opportunities, underserved geographies, target accounts, and emerging industry trends, and develop action plans to expand MPI's market presence and brand awareness.
  • Serve as the voice of the customer and market by providing insight into competitive activity, customer needs, and industry trends while supporting new product, service, and business development initiatives.
  • Partner closely with operations, engineering, estimating, marketing, finance, customer service, and supply chain teams to improve customer responsiveness, support strategic initiatives, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop and deliver product, application, and sales training programs for customers, distributors, manufacturers' representatives, and internal stakeholders.
  • Proactively address customer challenges and coordinate the resolution of issues related to quality, production, scheduling, delivery, billing, and service performance.
  • Represent McWane Plant & Industrial at customer meetings, project sites, industry events, trade associations, and channel partner engagements while demonstrating a high degree of professionalism, ownership, and accountability.
