About The Position

This role is a key part of GEA’s major investment in Canada, supporting our strategy to strengthen customer service, expand local capabilities, and accelerate business growth nationwide. The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for driving equipment and service sales within the Canadian market. As part of GEA’s significant investment in the Canadian market, this newly created role plays a central part in enhancing our customer service model and expanding our commercial footprint. The successful candidate will work closely with customers to understand their operational needs and deliver engineered solutions based on GEA’s Homogenizing technologies. They will also collaborate directly with Canadian and global leadership to support strategic initiatives, improve responsiveness, and contribute to the long-term growth of the business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of capital equipment sales and service experience.
  • Bilingual in French and English (written and verbal).
  • Strong knowledge of the customer base and competitive landscape.
  • Proven experience leading or influencing a sales organization within a complex product and matrix environment.
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical data and complex engineering systems.
  • Strong command of modern sales processes, organizational methods, and tools (e.g., ordering, pricing, CRM).
  • Deep understanding of local market dynamics and customer needs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Willingness to travel 50–70%.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate equipment and service sales activities across Canada.
  • Work closely with customers and leadership to align sales activities with strategic priorities and customer needs.
  • Allocate resources effectively and prioritize initiatives to maximize commercial impact.
  • Collaborate with all Canadian divisions and industry teams across sales and service.
  • Build strong relationships with existing and prospective customers to identify current and future requirements.
  • Prepare and deliver technical and commercial presentations at industry events and customer meetings.
  • Support the preparation of cost estimates by reviewing project plans and customer documentation, and consulting with engineering and technical teams.
  • Analyze customer environments to recommend improvements, equipment upgrades, or process changes based on cost-benefit evaluations.
  • Coordinate sales activities with other GEA groups to align product lines and applications.
  • Assist in drafting proposals and negotiating final contracts, including pricing, terms, and conditions.
  • Ensure seamless communication and handover to the project management team following order placement.
  • Participate in trade shows, conferences, and marketing initiatives to increase brand visibility and sales volume.
  • Support the execution of local equipment and service sales strategies.
  • Identify and resolve complex issues related to equipment start-ups and service activities.
  • Achieve sales growth targets and expand market coverage.
  • Meet order intake and margin objectives.
  • Coordinate field trials at customer sites and at GEA test centers.
  • Position GEA product offerings effectively within the competitive landscape.
  • Act as key account manager, ensuring customers are aware of the full range of GEA products and services.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal GEA stakeholders.
  • Support product development initiatives both at customer locations and internally.
  • Promote a “One Face to the Client” culture across sales and service.
  • Monitor market trends and contribute to strategic business planning.
