Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/medtech The MedTech Surgery business offers a broad range of products, platforms and technologies—including, ultrasonic and advanced bipolar energy devices, sutures, surgical staplers, clip appliers, trocars and synthetic mesh devices—that are used in a wide variety of minimally invasive and open surgical procedures. Specialties include support for treatment of colorectal and thoracic conditions, women’s health conditions, cancer, obesity, general, plastic, orthopedic, and urology. The Regional Sales Manager I (RSM) role is a sales leadership and account management role that will require clinical, business acumen and people development capabilities focused on growing our hemostasis and wound closure platforms (AHH). A Regional Sales Manager is expected to enable a transformative shift to facility-level account management by developing and implementing an account plan for each facility. They will be responsible for identifying and fostering relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers across the facility. They mobilize divisional resources to anticipate and respond to customer needs, problems, and opportunities at the facility level. The Regional Sales Manager leads the sales representatives to implement and execute sales demand strategies. They provide sales representatives with sufficient support, supervisory oversight, and customer engagement to achieve or exceed the division's sales forecasts. They are responsible for the coaching and career development of the sales representatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in an applicable field is required.
  • 3-5 years relevant business and/or leadership experience required.
  • 3-5 years in clinical sales, marketing, professional education, sales learning/ development, or commercial functional experience is strongly preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience coaching, mentoring, and/or training.
  • A valid driver's license issued in one of the 50 United States is required.
  • The ability to travel, including overnight and/or weekends, up to 60% of the time is also required.

  • MBA (or equivalent) preferred.
  • Participation in a Sales Leadership Development Program is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute facility-level account plans to drive a transformational account management approach.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key facility stakeholders and decision makers.
  • Leverage people, processes, programs, tools, and technology to address customer needs and improve outcomes.
  • Coordinate Demand and Access resources tailored to facility-specific requirements.
  • Create facility-level cost-benefit analyses to prioritize opportunities and resource deployment.
  • Collaborate across MedTech Surgery to align resources and solutions with customer needs.
  • Analyze contract-related issues, including tier change proposals, and make recommendations based on financial analysis.
  • Utilize business acumen tools to identify facility-specific growth opportunities.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of sales representatives through ongoing field engagement and development planning.
  • Drive achievement of individual development plans, career growth, and overall team performance.
  • Recruit, hire, and retain top sales talent to ensure full territory coverage.
  • Lead the team to execute a compliant, ethical, professional, and persuasive selling process that drives customer action.
  • Coach representatives on handling product questions, overcoming objections, and delivering effective sales presentations.
  • Develop expertise in surgical applications within designated specialties and guide customer targeting and segmentation strategies.
  • Ensure adherence to the J&J Business Conduct Policy, HCC requirements, and all company policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office and Apple business applications.
