About The Position

Mortenson is seeking a detail-oriented Regional Safety Program Manager for BLUvera Manufacturing to develop, maintain, and enhance safety programs, policies, and procedures in support of its Zero Injury Safety program. The role focuses on building and organizing a comprehensive library of written safety programs and ensuring consistency, accuracy, and compliance across the organization. The successful candidate will bring project management, document control, and governance skills, and will develop structured plans, prioritize competing tasks, and drive complex initiatives to completion. Working with safety and project teams, this person will strengthen the safety program through well-defined processes, effective documentation, and continuous improvement. The position is ideally based in the Twin Cities, Minnesota, and includes travel to project sites, trainings, and conferences as needed. The description also states the ability to travel up to 100%. The role has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health, or a related field; alternatively, a high school diploma plus CHST, OSHA 500, and at least 14 years of continuous construction experience leading crews and planning work. The alternative experience must include at least eight years as a dedicated construction safety professional responsible for managing large-project or multi-project safety programs, conducting and reviewing hazard analyses and developing controls, conducting safety training, and working with project teams and leadership to plan work activities.

Responsibilities

Plan, lead, and manage implementation of Zero Injury Safety Program elements and initiatives throughout the operating group.
Lead and support safety program collaboration across multiple organizations, including trade partners and joint-venture partners.
Conduct and review site hazard assessments with project management during planning and construction phases.
Develop, schedule, and conduct safety training, including train-the-trainer sessions, and create group-specific safety orientation content.
Oversee project documentation, tracking, and analysis of Safety, Injury, and Hazard statistics, trend analyses, and OSHA reports.
Monitor onsite construction activities through audits and observations, documenting deficiencies and corrective actions.
Lead incident reporting, investigation, and analysis, and coach safety managers in high-risk plan review.
Provide professional direction and mentorship to Safety staff, including development opportunities and hosting learning sessions.
Maintain operational knowledge of construction safety, OSHA, ANSI, and other applicable standards, regulations, and procedures.
Support the operating group safety director and safety leadership team in achieving and maintaining safety performance metrics, and assist in incident response as needed.
