About The Position

The Regional Recruiter functions as part of the UG Admission team, which is responsible for promoting the college and recruiting qualified students to meet enrollment goals within a specific region. This role involves attending college fairs, parent-led events, and creating their own admissions and recruitment events to connect with prospective students and their families. The recruiter will share information about the college or university, including academic programs, campus life, and student services, and schedule both in-person and virtual recruitment events at high schools, college fairs, and portfolio day events. Additionally, the role involves establishing relationships with regional high schools, community colleges, and other undergraduate student feeder sources, conducting presentation and information sessions, reviewing prospective student portfolios, assisting assigned counselors with follow-up, and completing post-recruitment event evaluations and expense reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree, BFA preferred
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends during the recruitment cycle
  • Active US Drivers License
  • Active US Address to receive MICA promotional material
  • Interest and commitment to the goals of higher education in the arts
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Comfortable with public speaking and giving presentations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Keynote, Slack, Workday, and social media platforms
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of art, design, and visual culture and the ability to discuss these subjects

Responsibilities

  • Attending college fairs, parent-led events, and creating their own admissions and recruitment events to connect with prospective students and their families
  • Sharing information about the college or university, including academic programs, campus life, and student services
  • Schedule both in-person and virtual recruitment at high schools, college fairs, and portfolio day events
  • Establishing relationships with regional high schools, community colleges, and other undergraduate student feeder sources
  • Conducts presentation and information sessions to groups of students, parents, art teachers, and college counselors.
  • Reviews prospective student portfolios at high school visits, portfolio review events, and AICAD Slideroom reviews to provide feedback for growth and development
  • Assist the assigned counselors for the territory with follow-up after the initial prospective point of contact
  • Complete post-recruitment event evaluations and expense reports.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
