About The Position

The American Red Cross is seeking a Regional Philanthropy Senior Officer to meet fundraising goals and objectives and connect with individual donors to serve its mission. This role involves identifying, engaging, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding current and prospective individual donors within the Colorado/Wyoming Red Cross Region to expand their financial support. The ideal candidate will be located in the Denver area and will work in a hybrid model (2-3 days/week in office) with frequent travel for donor meetings. The position offers a chance to build meaningful relationships, partner with the local fundraising team on donor strategies, collaborate cross-functionally, manage and solicit a donor portfolio, achieve annual revenue goals, lead a major gift strategy for donors giving $10,000+, maintain donor records in Salesforce, and help donors connect their passions to the Red Cross mission. Participation in disaster relief fundraising efforts and driving a vehicle for business purposes are also required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum 7 years of sales and/or fundraising experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
• Ability to relate well and work effectively with multiple constituencies and audiences.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of office systems: MS-Office preferred and fundraising database systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce.com).
• Ability to work on a team within a collaborative environment and ensure the highest customer service orientation.
• A current valid driver's license and good driving record is required.
• Frequent travel within the Denver area and 1-2 times a year into western Colorado. May travel into Wyoming 1-2 times a year for donor visits.
• Combination of candidate’s education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description’s minimum education and general experience years combined.

Responsibilities

• Build and deepen meaningful relationships with current and prospective individual donors throughout the Denver area and Western Colorado, guiding them from initial connection through long‑term stewardship.
• Partner with the local fundraising team to design and execute a regional donor strategy focused on qualification, retention, growth, and re‑engagement of past supporters.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with fundraising colleagues and internal partners to create customized solicitation strategies that align donor interests with organizational priorities.
• Manage and actively solicit an assigned portfolio of donors through in‑person visits and virtual meetings, including preparation of compelling, personalized proposals and materials.
• Achieve annual revenue goals by successfully cultivating and stewarding a portfolio of donors and prospects.
• Lead and implement a major gift strategy focused on donors giving $10,000 or more, with a strong emphasis on maximizing philanthropic impact for the American Red Cross.
• Maintain accurate and timely donor records, activity tracking, and portfolio management within Salesforce.
• Help donors find purpose and meaning through their philanthropy by connecting their passions to the life‑saving mission of the American Red Cross.
• Participate in disaster relief fundraising efforts as needed, supporting the organization’s response during times of greatest need.
• Will drive vehicle to other locations. Responsible for providing own transportation for business purposes or use a Red Cross fleet vehicle.
