About The Position

The Regional Nutrition Manager serves as the primary operational leader of the KIPP Atlanta Schools Nutrition Program and is responsible for ensuring consistency, compliance, financial integrity, and operational excellence across all campuses. Reporting to the Director of School Nutrition, this role functions as the organization's nutrition operations expert, systems administrator, compliance leader, and field-based support partner. The Regional Nutrition Manager leads the implementation of nutrition program standards across multiple campuses, oversees reimbursement claim processes, administers nutrition management systems, supports financial stewardship, conducts compliance audits, develops campus nutrition leaders, and ensures the successful execution of all federal, state, local, and organizational requirements. This role serves as the bridge between strategic vision and campus execution, ensuring every school operates as part of a cohesive, high-performing nutrition program that delivers exceptional service to scholars and families.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or higher in Nutrition, Food Service Management, Business Administration, Public Health, Operations Management, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
  • Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in food service, school nutrition, operations, or a related field.
  • Minimum two (2) years of leadership experience supervising teams, programs, or operations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of USDA Child Nutrition Programs, food safety regulations, and school nutrition compliance requirements.
  • ServSafe Manager certification or ability to obtain certification within 90 days of employment.
  • Experience utilizing operational systems and technology platforms to manage compliance, reporting, and financial processes.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Ability to maintain operational excellence in a fast-paced and highly regulated environment.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative team culture.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Food Service Management, Public Health, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience with PrimeroEdge, SchoolCafe, or comparable school nutrition software systems.
  • Experience managing reimbursement claims and state nutrition reporting requirements.
  • Experience supporting multi-site operations.
  • SNA Certification or advanced school nutrition credentials.
  • Bilingual communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead implementation of standardized nutrition operating procedures across all campuses.
  • Conduct routine campus audits, compliance reviews, food safety inspections, and operational walkthroughs.
  • Ensure adherence to USDA, Georgia Department of Education, local health department, and organizational regulations.
  • Coordinate annual health inspections, administrative review preparation, corrective action plans, and compliance monitoring activities.
  • Conduct independent HACCP audits and monitor implementation of food safety protocols.
  • Maintain audit readiness across all campuses through documentation reviews and operational coaching.
  • Support implementation of wellness initiatives, food safety programs, allergen management protocols, and nutrition-related compliance requirements.
  • Monitor workplace safety practices and escalate concerns appropriately.
  • Serve as a key operational partner in nutrition-related incident response and crisis management.
  • Manage monthly reimbursement claim preparation, validation, and submission processes.
  • Serve as system administrator for nutrition management platforms, including PrimeroEdge and related operational systems.
  • Oversee eligibility management, meal accountability processes, inventory reporting, and operational data integrity.
  • Review and validate campus inventory submissions, ordering practices, and financial reports.
  • Support budget management, food cost monitoring, labor efficiency analysis, and operational performance reporting.
  • Maintain internal controls that ensure financial accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Analyze operational and financial data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Support procurement processes, vendor coordination, USDA Foods administration, and inventory management activities.
  • Generate reports and recommendations that support strategic decision-making by the Director of School Nutrition.
  • Supervise, coach, develop, and evaluate Cafeteria Managers and Nutrition Assistant Managers.
  • Design and facilitate professional development, compliance training, and operational learning opportunities.
  • Build leadership capacity across campuses through coaching, mentoring, and succession planning.
  • Coordinate substitute staffing and operational coverage strategies across the network.
  • Monitor compliance with certification requirements, professional standards training, and required organizational trainings.
  • Support parent and family concern resolution that escalates beyond the campus level.
  • Foster strong relationships with school leaders, nutrition teams, scholars, and families.
  • Partner with the Director of School Nutrition on strategic initiatives, continuous improvement efforts, and organizational priorities.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, service excellence, operational consistency, and scholar-centered decision-making.
