Requirements

  • Registered Nursing License and Associates Degree required.
  • Must be willing to obtain and be eligible for licensure in all states where practice occurs.
  • 3+ years of nursing experience required.
  • 2+ years of healthcare management experience required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Must maintain CPR/BLS certification.
  • Must obtain and maintain NCCHC CCHP certification.
  • Licensed practical nurses (LPNs) will deliver care with Registered Nurse (RN) oversight at all times and work within the governing state and USA Medical & Psychological Staffing organizational Scope of Practice.
  • Nurses may never remove patients from suicide watch.
  • Nurses will collaborate across the care team with practitioners, behavioral health, and administrators to provide the best care for patients.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise direct reports, nursing paraprofessionals, and participate in the delivery of quality nursing care services within our client sites.
  • Ensure nursing associates provide care that aligns with the governing state guidelines and USA Medical & Psychological Staffing organizational Scope of Practice.
  • Manage staffing plans and payroll to ensure the completion and delivery of over-under reports in alignment with contractual compliance.
  • Manage the onboarding and integration of new clients to include delivery of officer and nurse training while helping with site specific Policy and Procedures.
  • Conduct nurse orientation, skills evaluation, and quarterly coaching for direct reports as indicated.
  • Maintain a general understanding of state-specific statutes, correctional facility standards, and regulatory bodies for accredited sites.
  • Escalate employee and client issues or concerns to the appropriate organizational level.
  • Facilitate annual officer training for each assigned site and provide additional officer training as needed.
  • Partner with the talent acquisition team to interview and select qualified associates.
  • Provide client site support for surveys and Inspections.
  • Assists and consults with coordinating site schedules and staffing communication as necessary.
  • Assist sites with completing critical incident drills and documentation.
  • Conduct site visits, complete documentation, and submit information every eight weeks for all assigned sites.
  • Conducts continuous quality improvement (CQI) meetings and completes documentation every three to six months or more often if required, for all assigned client sites.
  • Complete CQI, peer reviews, competencies, evaluations, and site visits.
  • Serves as liaison between leadership, clients, and staff.
  • Demonstrate commitment and dedication to providing clinical support and guidance in the development and deployment of initiatives designed to solve problems and make lives easier.
  • Partner with medical, behavioral health, and management teams to facilitate teamwork to collaboratively accomplish organizational goals.
  • Remain available for 24/7 operational calls including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Commitment to obtain and maintain licensure in all states where practice occurs.
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date strategic planning manual with continuity BUS plan and goals.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
