About The Position

The Regional Music Coordinator organizes, develops, and coordinates music and creative arts programs for Salvation Army Corps locations within the Hampton Roads Region, including Williamsburg, Virginia Peninsula, Hampton Roads Kroc Center, Portsmouth, and Suffolk. Responsibilities include conducting rehearsals, teaching private and group lessons, developing ministry and performance opportunities, training music leaders, coordinating regional events, establishing community partnerships, supervising volunteers, and supporting Divisional Music & Arts initiatives.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Music Education or a related field; AND Three years of teaching experience; OR Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Valid State Driver's License
Safe From Harm Certification
CPR Certification

Responsibilities

Lead and teach instrumental, vocal, and music theory instruction for individuals and groups while mentoring students and encouraging participation in Salvation Army music programs.
Develop and implement Corps and regional music and arts programs, including leadership training, summer music programs, volunteer recruitment, and curriculum development.
Plan and coordinate regional music and arts events, performances, recitals, outdoor ministry opportunities, and special seasonal programs.
Support worship services, maintain partnerships with community arts organizations and educational institutions, and provide regular program reporting to leadership.
Manage music inventories, instruments, and equipment while providing support for Corps, regional, and divisional events as assigned.
