About The Position

ViiV Healthcare is a global specialty HIV company dedicated to researching and delivering new medicines for people living with, and at risk of, HIV. ViiV focuses on education and treatment, taking a holistic approach that includes developing community programs and improving access to care, with the ultimate goal of eradicating HIV/AIDS. The North American Medical Affairs team plays a crucial role in identifying and selecting capable research sites, educating researchers, and ensuring timely study progression. With the increasing management of HIV therapy by various stakeholders, there's a heightened need to provide clinical and research information to formulary decision-makers and payer groups, increasing the demand for Medical Affairs partnership. This role is critical for enhancing medical and scientific leadership to effectively exchange high-quality information about ViiV products and the disease area with customers, which is essential for delivering on promises to patients and shareholders and achieving industry leadership. The Regional Medical Director, Southeast, is a new role created due to the growth of ViiV Healthcare North America's business and the ViiV Industry Leading Medical Affairs Initiative (VILMA). This position offers the opportunity to lead key activities and advance one's career.

Requirements

  • Physician with 7 plus years of clinical experience
  • Experience in the treatment and care of people living with HIV as well as the prevention of HIV
  • 50% plus travel

  • Provide analyses and reviews of ViiV products, therapy areas, and competitor products, making recommendations to assist in determining current and future strategic direction.
  • Develop therapy area reviews, product monographs, slide sets, training packages, etc., as appropriate to business and customer needs.
  • Work with market access as required to prepare tailored responses to address payer and access issues.
  • Ensure the medical information department and field medical group are up-to-date on new products by supporting medical training and advising on complex clinical issues.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations for sales force training programs and briefing sessions, ensuring complex scientific data and medical concepts are understood and consistent with promotional strategy.
  • Play a leading role in the Key Evidence Generation process to identify data needs and options for generating evidence.
  • May participate in the planning of clinical trials, ensuring they align with short- and long-term business needs.
  • Help identify opportunities for the exploitation of trial results for commercial benefit.
  • Operate both individually and within cross-functional teams, including Medical Directors, Marketing, Market Access, Sales Force, Professional Relations, PR/Communications, Medical Science Liaisons, Business Development, Medical Information, Market Research, Clinical Research, Regulatory Affairs, Training Department, Customer Services, and External Customers.
  • May perform a mentoring role for others.
