About The Position

The Regional Manager for Southeast Asia serves as UniSC’s in-market representative across the region with a primary focus on Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, supporting the University’s international student recruitment, partnership development and market engagement activities. Acting as a visible ambassador for UniSC, the role promotes the University’s programs, values and student experience while strengthening relationships with prospective students, education agents, schools, institutional partners and other key stakeholders. Working under the direct instruction of the International Business Development Manager (North & Southeast Asia and the Pacific), the Regional Manager for Southeast Asia supports the implementation of UniSC’s international recruitment and market development strategy across the region. The role contributes local market knowledge, delivers agreed recruitment and engagement activities, and supports the achievement of international student recruitment objectives. The successful candidate will act on behalf of UniSC in the designated markets and will be expected to represent the University professionally and consistently in all interactions. The role is dedicated to advancing UniSC’s strategic objectives and enhancing the University’s profile across Southeast Asia. While the successful candidate will work exclusively in support of UniSC’s international recruitment and engagement objectives, their employment will be facilitated through an Employer of Record (EOR) arrangement administered by Remote and governed by applicable local employment laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • A degree qualification with relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and professional expertise.
  • Demonstrated specialist knowledge and practical experience in international student recruitment, admissions and marketing practices, with the ability to interpret and apply relevant institutional, government and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and pursue recruitment opportunities while building credibility, influence and trusted relationships with diverse stakeholders across international and cross-cultural environments, including representing an organisation effectively in remote, globally dispersed contexts.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute effectively to multi-channel and digital marketing and recruitment activities, including nurture marketing and market-specific recruitment plans.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines, achieve targets and resolve issues with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative, accountability and self-motivation.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in customer relationship management (CRM) systems and other business technologies, including the ability to maintain accurate records and ensure data quality, integrity and compliance with privacy obligations.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethical conduct, professionalism and integrity, including the ability to exercise sound judgement, maintain confidentiality, and handle sensitive information in accordance with privacy, data protection and organisational requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify emerging issues, operational risks or stakeholder concerns and escalate matters appropriately to support effective decision-making.

  • Fluency in Vietnamese, or another language relevant to the regions of responsibility, will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the achievement of UniSC’s Southeast Asia regional growth objectives through effective market positioning, engagement and execution of regional plans.
  • Strengthen UniSC’s presence across Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and broader Southeast Asia by identifying and advancing sustainable recruitment channels, partnerships and market opportunities.
  • Provide high-quality market intelligence to inform strategic decision-making, including insights on demand trends, competitor activity and regulatory developments.
  • Represent UniSC in-market with professionalism, cultural awareness and strong alignment to institutional priorities and brand.
  • Generate and sustain a pipeline of qualified prospective students aligned with priority programs, markets and intakes.
  • Drive conversion outcomes across the recruitment lifecycle, from enquiry through to enrolment, through effective engagement strategies and follow-up.
  • Contribute to the delivery of recruitment targets through proactive lead nurturing, stakeholder coordination and alignment with campaign activity.
  • Support the continuous improvement of conversion performance through insights, feedback and targeted interventions.
  • Contribute to lead generation strategies across priority markets, including in-market activities, campaigns and partnerships.
  • Support the development and localisation of marketing assets (e.g. digital campaigns, promotional materials, banners and content) to ensure relevance and impact in Southeast Asia.
  • Provide market-informed input into campaign design, messaging and channel optimisation to strengthen brand visibility and engagement.
  • Work collaboratively with marketing and recruitment teams to maximise campaign effectiveness and return on investment.
  • Establish and maintain high-performing relationships with education agents, institutions and key stakeholders to support recruitment outcomes.
  • Enable partner success through training, engagement and provision of timely, accurate information.
  • Monitor and inform improvements in stakeholder performance, ensuring alignment with UniSC priorities and market strategy.
  • Act as a trusted in-country representative, strengthening UniSC’s reputation and partnership network.
  • Maintain oversight of the student pipeline to ensure timely progression, responsiveness and alignment to key intake timelines.
  • Deliver accurate and timely reporting on recruitment activity, pipeline health, market performance and emerging risks or opportunities.
  • Use data and insights to inform planning, improve performance and support evidence-based decision-making.
  • Deliver recruitment and engagement activities in accordance with agreed regional plans, timelines and budgets.
  • Ensure effective coordination of in-market activities, events and stakeholder engagements to support strategic objectives.
  • Demonstrate sound judgement, prioritisation and initiative in managing competing demands across markets and time zones.
  • Ensure all activities align with UniSC policies, regulatory requirements (including ESOS and the National Code) and ethical standards.
  • Maintain data integrity, confidentiality and compliance with privacy and information security requirements.
  • Identify and escalate risks and compliance concerns to the International Business Development Manager.
  • Contribute positively to team performance, cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of UniSC programs, strategy and student experience to support accurate representation.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, accountability and a commitment to delivering outcomes aligned with organisational goals.
  • Work flexibly, including outside local business hours where required, to support recruitment activities across multiple time zones and peak operational periods.
  • Undertake other duties, projects and activities as reasonably requested by the International Business Development Manager (North & Southeast Asia and the Pacific).
  • Support recruitment and engagement activities outside the primary regional portfolio as required.
  • Regular travel within Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, and travel to other Southeast Asian locations, may be required.
  • Periodic travel to Australia may be required to support planning activities, training and team engagement.
