About The Position

The Regional Manager of Safety provides expert technical counsel to all levels of regional management to ensure the strategic administration of the safety program. Architect and implement robust policies and procedures that align regional operational execution with corporate safety objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in safety related field, or equivalent technical training/experience (Required)
  • Construction Health and Safety Technician Certification (CHST) or equivalent (Required)
  • 10-12 years of industrial or construction safety experience, including supervisory responsibility for other safety professionals.
  • 12+ years of industrial/construction safety experience in leu of a degree
  • Experience with workers' compensation, regulatory compliance, safety auditing, and safety program oversight (Required)
  • Training and experience in Incident Investigation/Root Cause Analysis (Required)
  • Maintain a deep, current knowledge of OSHA standards, local building codes, and industry best practices to serve as a reliable technical resource.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and safety-related software tools. (Required)
  • Ability to lead safety programs and develop training (Required)
  • Ability to lead field safety operations and coach safety professionals.
  • Strong communication, decision-making and problem-solving skills. (Required)
  • Valid state-issued driver's license (Required).

Nice To Haves

  • Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Graduate Safety Professional (GSP) Certification (Preferred)
  • Prior experience supporting operations in oil & gas, chemical manufacturing, or refinery environments is a strong plus.
  • TWIC may be required based on project assignment (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Champion the integration of safety and environmental responsibility into daily operations. Leverage and evolve the CIC Management System to exceed customer, regulatory, and corporate objectives.
  • Provide technical counsel to all levels of management; assist in setting company-wide goals, developing policies, and architecting standard safe operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure absolute compliance with federal, state, local, company, and customer-specific safety and environmental regulations across all sites.
  • Direct field safety operations and provide high-level oversight to field safety representatives. Conduct quality assurance audits to remediate unsafe conditions or procedural gaps.
  • Orchestrate project startup safety requirements, including training, medical surveillance, drug testing, and behavioral safety programs.
  • Oversee the lifecycle of the incident investigation program and Workers' Compensation processes, utilizing root-cause analysis to prevent systemic recurrence.
  • Design and manage a comprehensive safety training curriculum to ensure the workforce is qualified to perform work safely and efficiently.
  • Direct industrial hygiene monitoring, ergonomic programs, and wellness initiatives to mitigate health-related occupational risks.
  • Partner with the estimating group to review contract obligations; serve as the primary interface with customer safety departments to align health and safety efforts.
  • Administer safety incentive programs, facilitate "Lessons Learned" reviews post-project, and maintain a network of external professional resources.
