About The Position

The School of Social Work (SSW) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking three (3) Regional Liaisons for the Public Service Leadership Program (PSLP). This program, funded by a grant, aims to develop and offer a statewide, three-tiered public service certificate for both pre-service students (high school, community college, undergraduate, and master's levels) and in-service practitioners in public sector social work. The certifications are designed to encourage interest in public sector careers and provide a credential for career advancement and skill development for current professionals. Each certificate will include curriculum enhancements, tuition-free access, a focus on direct service and North Carolina's specific service delivery areas, a virtual delivery model, and co-instruction by university faculty, agency professionals, and individuals with lived experiences. This is a time-limited position for one year, with potential extensions contingent on funding. Two positions will be based in eastern NC and one in central NC. The Regional Liaisons will report to the Assistant Dean for Workforce Development and act as the primary contact for PSLP participants in their assigned regions. They will support admissions, recruitment, curriculum evaluation, and resilience/well-being support for all program levels. Key responsibilities include collecting and tracking participant data, contributing to marketing materials, facilitating information sessions, and providing on-site coordination for training and outreach events. This hybrid role requires both on-site and in-person support for participants and partner campuses within the assigned region. Candidates must reside within commuting distance of a coalition partner campus and be willing to support other partner schools. The position requires up to 25% in-state travel to human services organizations and universities, and potential travel to Chapel Hill for meetings and conferences.

Requirements

• Proficiency in using online learning platforms and digital tools for virtual program delivery (e.g. Zoom, Teams, Mentimeter, BigBlueButton).
• Ability to manage workload both independently and collaboratively without immediate or direct supervision.
• Ability to think critically and use conflict resolution skills to solve complex logistical problems involving diverse populations (e.g. schools, community-based nonprofits, university).
• Approachable, calm style to encourage open communication across essential partners.
• Experience with post-secondary recruitment and admissions processes.
• Working knowledge of NC social work education programs and areas of practice.

Nice To Haves

• Degree in social work, education, counseling, or other human services related field.
• Experience working in at least one of the five critical service domains: (1) child and family services; (2) mental and behavioral health; (3) health, aging and caregiving; (4) intellectual and developmental disabilities; and/or (5) service to justice system involved individuals.
• Experience using implementation science tools and strategies.
• Experience using data to evaluate program effectiveness and to develop continuous improvement and strategic action plans.
• Experience communicating and managing conflict across diverse varied workforce populations, essential partners, and settings.
• Experience with academic advising for post-secondary education settings.
• Experience with classroom-based instruction for in-person and online learning environments.
• Ability to work collaboratively with academic institutions, adult students, working professionals, and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of PSLP's admissions and recruitment processes within their assigned region.
• Support the development and implementation of PSLP's curriculum and academic program evaluation within their assigned region.
• Support the development and implementation of PSLP's resilience and well-being support across all program levels for prospective pre-service and in-service participants.
• Play a key role in the collection and tracking of participant admissions data, program learning data, and engagement in various program learning activities.
• Contribute to the development of marketing materials.
• Facilitate information sessions.
• Provide on-ground, on-site coordination and support for in-person training events, conferences, and outreach events.
• Provide on-site and in-person support to PSLP participants and coalition partner campuses within their assigned region.
• Support other coalition partner schools and programs within their assigned region.
