About The Position

Alliance Animal Health is a rapidly expanding private equity-backed Veterinary Service Organization that partners with veterinarian practices across the US. We provide business solutions such as talent acquisition, marketing, human resources, finance, and operations to help practices focus on animal care. We are looking for a dynamic Regional Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to support our growing veterinary hospital network in the MidAtlantic and Southcentral Regions. The HRBP will act as a strategic partner and consultant to Regional Managers and local hospital leadership, implementing people strategies that align with operational goals, improve culture, and support excellent patient care. This role is primarily responsible for talent and performance management, succession planning, employee relations, and HR process optimization across the Alliance network and Central Support Team. You will report to the HR Director and collaborate with the HR Leadership Team, Regional Directors, Regional VPs, and Regional Managers. This is a remote, U.S.-based position requiring some travel to our Home Office in Rye Brook, NY, and partner practices nationwide. The role demands a strong HR generalist background, business acumen, and the ability to handle the unique challenges of the veterinary industry. The ideal candidate must be in the CST/EST time zone.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (required)
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a multi-site HRBP or regional HR role.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with leaders and employees at all levels.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills.
  • High degree of emotional intelligence, empathy, and adaptability.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) preferred.
  • Experience working in healthcare, veterinary medicine, or other clinical environments strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and coaching on HR-related matters including employee relations, performance management, talent development, and engagement.
  • Build strong working relationships with regional operations leaders and Central Support employees.
  • Support workforce planning, succession planning, and talent acquisition strategies in collaboration with recruiting partners.
  • Lead and support investigations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes while maintaining a fair and consistent approach.
  • Monitor HR metrics (turnover, engagement, retention) and use data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Lead and support the implementation of HR policies, programs, and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations across assigned region.
