About The Position

8Fleet is a technology and logistics company based in Los Angeles, focused on building the operational infrastructure for modern rideshare fleets, including autonomous and non-autonomous vehicles. The company operates in Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Atlanta, and Miami. They are seeking a Regional General Manager to oversee their West region, which includes some of their most established markets. This role is based at the Los Angeles HQ and involves end-to-end ownership of regional performance, hiring and leading Market Managers, and supporting new market launches. The position requires strategic thinking at a high level (regional strategy, market prioritization) as well as the ability to delve into operational details like P&Ls and driver-supply issues. It is a role for an operator and builder who can scale existing markets, improve their operations, and contribute to best practices for other regions. The ideal candidate will have experience scaling operations in fast-paced, multi-market environments (rideshare, delivery, or similar marketplace/logistics businesses), direct management of managers, and a proactive approach to ambiguity. Prior experience with platforms like Uber or Lyft is highly desirable. The role emphasizes drive, curiosity, and a passion for creative problem-solving, with the ability to instill these qualities in their team.

  • 4+ years of experience managing managers (not just individual contributors), with a track record of hiring and developing strong operators
  • Goal focus with a strong bias toward action and comfort operating with ambiguity
  • Entrepreneurial hustle and proven self-starter with an owner's mentality; experience scaling established markets and launching new ones strongly preferred
  • Data-driven mindset, strong business judgment, and proven ability to perform analysis, draw key insights, and form and execute strategy at a regional level
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships, manage a distributed team, influence founders/execs, and inspire others
  • Excellent organization and time management; comfortable managing multiple markets and priorities simultaneously
  • Willingness to travel regularly between Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Diego
