About The Position

Americans for Prosperity (AFP) is seeking a Regional Field Manager for the Alexandria, Northern Virginia, and Prince William county area. This role requires an entrepreneurial mindset to recruit and mobilize people across Virginia. The position owns the full grassroots cycle, including recruiting volunteers and community leaders, training and supervising part-time canvassers, and representing AFP in the community.

Requirements

An entrepreneurial mindset: initiative, trying new approaches, and quick adjustment when things aren't working.
A track record in grassroots organizing, political campaigns, community organizing, or advocacy work.
Strong relationship-building and people skills, with genuine sales or customer-relationship instincts.
Comfortable communicator and collaborator who embraces feedback and works well with staff, volunteers, and coalition partners.
Comfort with basic administrative and compliance work.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Experience in field organizing, campaigns, or nonprofit advocacy.
A valid driver's license.
Willingness to travel throughout Alexandria, Northern Virginia, and Prince William county.

People-management experience.
A history of identifying new opportunities and turning them into measurable growth, whether in a volunteer program, coalition, or community organization.
Familiarity with Virginia's political, community, and public policy landscape.
Experience managing part-time staff, contractors, or volunteer teams.

Responsibilities

Recruit, train, and grow a base of active, productive volunteers.
Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, advocacy groups, and people with local political influence.
Supervise part-time canvassing contractors and Grassroots Coordinators, including training, coaching, and performance management.
Represent AFP publicly, communicating effectively one-on-one and to large groups, creating content, and speaking knowledgeably about policy positions.
Handle the practical aspects of running a region, including budget, equipment, expense reports, and general legal compliance.
Design and execute creative outreach strategies, including canvassing, phone banking, digital campaigns, events, and coalition building, to expand AFP's footprint in new communities.
