About The Position

GFL Environmental is seeking a Regional EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) Manager to be the strategic backbone of their safety culture across the Virginia and North Carolina region. This role involves driving a "Safety First" mindset across multiple facilities, conducting site inspections and audits, performing incident investigations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and developing safety training programs. The ideal candidate will act as a "Safety North Star" for multiple facilities, ensuring the company remains the gold standard in the solid waste industry.

Requirements

5–7+ years of experience in the EHS field, ideally within the industrial, waste management, or logistics sectors.
Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards.
Experience with Solid Waste or DOT regulations is a plus.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with executives and shop floor employees.
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related science-heavy field.
Willingness to travel up to 60%-70% of the time.
Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located.

Nice To Haves

CSP, CHMM, or ASP certifications are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Drive a "Safety First" mindset across multiple sites.
Conduct high-level site inspections and audits to identify risks.
Perform root-cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions for incidents.
Ensure facilities are compliant with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and local regulations.
Develop and deliver engaging safety training programs.
