About The Position

A regional dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and scheduling the transportation of goods within a specific geographic area, ensuring efficient and timely pickup and delivery of freight. They act as a crucial link between drivers, customers, and the transportation company, managing all aspects of the dispatch process. This includes scheduling pickups and deliveries, optimizing routes, tracking shipments, and maintaining communication with all parties involved.   • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to learn and effectively use software applications such as move management, accounting/billing, HRIS, timekeeping and other applications used in the performance of job duties.

Responsibilities

  • Creating efficient load’s for carriers considering traffic patterns, price and delivery deadlines
  • Maintaining clear and consistent communication with carriers, customers, and other relevant parties regarding shipment status, delays, or any other issues.
  • Finding and securing suitable freight loads for carriers, negotiating rates, and ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed.
  • Ensuring adherence to all relevant transportation regulations and company policies.
  • Addressing and resolving any issues that arise during the transportation process, such as delays, breakdowns, or accidents
  • Providing excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving complaints, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Utilizing technology to track the location and status of shipments in real-time.
