The Medical Assistance Program (MAP) administers Medicaid and related public health insurance programs for the City of New York. Applying individuals and families are approved for eligibility against applicable Federal and State guidelines. Those found to be eligible can use coverage provided to access doctors, medication and other health care services at little or no cost. The Out-Stationed Eligibility Division (OED) operates ten community offices across the five boroughs of New York City. These offices assist eligible residents with enrolling in public health insurance programs, primarily Medicaid. Under the general direction of the Executive Director of the Centralized Applications Division, with wide latitude for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative, the Regional Director manages the operations of multiple community offices involved in the processing of applications and service requests for the Non-Modified Adjusted Gross Income (MAGI) consumers. Non-MAGI consumers qualify to apply for public health insurance directly with MAP.
