About The Position

The Regional Director provides long and short term support to our marinas and will be involved with varying operations roles from administration support, training, budgetary support, Sales/Marketing Support to our Marina General Manager. They assist the General Managers in improving the marina’s guest services level, performance, efficiency, and profitability. The Regional Director needs to work collaboratively with the Home Office and General Managers at each property. The Regional Director could also assist in training, coaching and assisting the General Manager on other functions as well. Provides the highest level of customer service in a friendly, helpful manner while accurately responding to the customers’ needs. Projects a professional company image through all types of interaction. As this is a fast pace environment, must be able to work under pressure.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years previous multi-unit management experience which included direction of employees, accounting and related budgeting activities, inventory control, advertising, and customer relations.
  • General accounting knowledge and basic understanding of financial statements.
  • Math computation skills.
  • English language skills, written and oral.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with employees, customers, tenants, vendors, and government personnel.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and determine appropriate course of action.
  • Must be available for 24-hour telephone contact for emergency response.
  • Strong ability to develop partnerships with internal clients/others.
  • Good presentation, facilitation and computer skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability work independently to achieve goals and targets.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable in leading the budgeting process for the assigned marinas. Work directly with the GM’s by developing the marinas’ operating and capital budgets. Sign off and submit those accountable properties’ operating and capital budgets to the VP of Operations. These should include detailed business plans. Monitor and advise the GM’s that they accountable for achieving financial results.
  • Re-forecast the assigned marinas rolling 12 income statements each quarter. Submit the re-forecasts to the VP of Ops.
  • Identify, analyze, and present value-add projects that help grow the marinas’ income.
  • Review monthly financial statements and work with assigned GM’s and Regional Controller/s to correct any errors. Sign off on all monthly marina income statements from respective region. Report on all significant variances to budget to the VP of Ops.
  • Responsible in leading the process of working with appropriate local government authorities to extend ground/land leases to operate the business. Lead the process to receive approval from local authorities for value add projects (when appropriate).
  • Ensure that there are succession plans in place for every asset for all key management positions.

  • Provides leadership and direction to all assigned General Managers within a specified region to ensure that all assigned Marinas achieve goals and objectives for gross revenue, gross operating profit, guest satisfaction, and associate satisfaction.
  • Support for all aspects of the Area’s Marina operations, including guest and Team Member satisfaction, human resources, Sales/Marketing and financial performance in conjunction with the Marina General Manager.
  • Help lead the team in the development and implementation of company-wide performance strategies.
  • Ensures implementation of the brand service strategy and brand standard initiatives with the objective of meeting or exceeding guest expectations.
  • Strives to continually improve guest and associate satisfaction and maximize the financial performance of the cluster of Marinas.
  • Ensures that company and brand standards and procedures are being followed. Leads specific team while assisting with meeting or exceeding property goals.
  • Achieve budgeted revenues, market share performance growth, monitor and implement processes and procedures that fully achieve the appropriate control of cost of sales, operating expenses and labor costs, and maximize profitability within all areas of the Marinas.
  • Ensures that all assigned general managers fully understands the budgeting process and how to fully evaluate and address under performing financial areas revealed in the Monthly Profit and Loss Statements.
  • Train existing or newly recruited General Managers on all company and brand specific processes to ensure overall success.
  • Coordinate with the Vice President of Operations as well as Sales/Marketing team to drive revenue to the Marinas.
  • Ensures that General Managers are provided clear goals and objectives for every assigned property.
  • Provides coaching and mentoring to General Managers to achieve all performance goals and objectives.
  • Periodically audits Marinas for compliance with all brand requirements.
  • Ensures that newly assigned General Managers are provided comprehensive on-boarding training in brand requirements, budgeting and accounting requirements, and Human Resources requirements.
  • Works closely with the sales and revenue teams to ensure that revenue and sales strategies are in alignment with all assigned Marinas in a specified region.
  • Ensures that regular meetings with assigned general managers are held and conducted in manner that achieves morale, communication and general guidance, expectations and standards.
  • Proactively works with the Human Resources Department to ensure that assist in the recruitment and retention objectives for general managers is fully achieved.
  • In conjunction with the General Manager’s & Human Resources, provides assistance in helping to resolve any property level employee relations issues.
  • Implement equipment safety training policy and schedule periodic compliance reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal government regulations including OSHA, EPA, USACE, DOL, FCC, ABC.
  • Maintain an open door policy for all employees.
  • Ensures adherence to departmental and/or operations policies, procedures and practices.
  • Assume other duties and responsibilities required or assigned by management.
