Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in health care field required.
  • Fifteen plus years of experience in a healthcare specialty field or service line
  • Ten plus years of leadership experience
  • Experience in effectively implementing organizational change initiatives at a system-level
  • Visible, collaborative leader skilled at building trust across physicians, staff, and executives
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Demonstrated track record of growing programs and increasing patient volume
  • Highly effective analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional communication and engagement skills in working within a large healthcare system

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree is strongly preferred.
  • Cancer program management experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Combines, plans, directs and evaluates complex care systems in collaboration with physicians and health care teams to ensure continuous performance improvement for optimal patient care and outcomes
  • Continually evaluates existing programs and services and identifies new program opportunities to respond to emerging trends in clinical care, technology, research and population health
  • Participates in strategic, short range and long-range planning for the Cancer Institute
  • Develops regional goals and objectives to support the Cancer Institute and Fairfield region strategic plan
  • Collaborates effectively with physician leadership and staff to promote multidisciplinary, team-based care and build high levels of engagement
  • Effectively manages organizational change through a well-communicated vision and mission, as well as clear and articulate assignments and expectations of others
  • Develops and maintains a strong relationship with key stakeholders and identifies areas for business opportunity and support
  • Develops and owns the regional operating budget; delivers timely variance reporting and corrective action plans when performance falls short
  • Serves as a mentor to staff and promotes professional development of staff
